Every once in a while designers have the opportunity to help preserve and share a bit of history. The Robert Guthrie Legacy Project website had to serve as an interactive museum and archive.
Over the years we have done all kinds of projects, but this was a first for us. We launched the new Robert Guthrie Legacy Project website on what would have been his 100th birthday. And we are definitely honored to be chosen to help preserve Dr. Guthrie’s legacy.
One of the challenges of this project was the variety and age of much of the content. Much of it was collected over 50+ years, and to be sorted and organized before being used on the new website. Luckily Dr. Bob’s daughter willingly served as an editor. We combined the pared down content with historic images to create a visual story of the life and work of Dr. Robert Guthrie.
Within days of launching the new Robert Guthrie Legacy Foundation website people from all over the world started leaving comments, perhaps to the surprise of the foundation administrator. And we will continue to work with them to implement more features and potentially expand the Robert Guthrie Legacy Project website.
