I talk to many e-commerce shop owners here at the highly caffeinated agency. Some in Asia, some in North America, and some in Europe. And all have the same objective; to build a high performing online store. But I already know that based on my conversations many of them will not succeed. Why is that, you ask? Simply put, if business owners fail to meet consumer e-commerce expectations they will not succeed. Period. End of discussion!

Implementing Consumer E-Commerce Expectations

Now that you know what features your e-commerce consumers will expect it is time to add and implement them on your e-commerce website. You should already be able to maintain your own e-commerce site as far as adding info and updating content is concerned. (If not you should discuss this option with your web designer or agency.) Therefore some of these essential e-commerce features can be added as part of that process, such as adding testimonials and current contact info.

But other consumer e-commerce expectations may be more difficult for you to implement on your own. This is especially true if you don’t feel entirely comfortable touching your e-commerce site at all.
